The People Behind Biophilia

Belinda Person

Artist · Project Lead

Belinda Person, also known as BelaB, is an Atlanta-based Afro-Latina visual artist whose practice is rooted in painting and the exploration of the human experience. She earned her M.A. in Art and Design with a concentration in Museum Studies from Kennesaw State University and her B.S. in Studio Art from Benedict College. Her background in both studio art and museum studies shapes how she approaches not only the creation of artwork, but also the ways audiences experience and connect with it.

At the heart of Belinda’s artistic practice is an interest in personal growth, self-reflection, and transformation. Her work often draws from emotion, identity, and lived experience, inviting viewers to look inward and consider their own process of becoming. Rather than offering answers, her paintings create space for reflection, connection, and a deeper understanding of ourselves.

In Biophilia, Belinda extends this exploration to our relationship with nature. The project reflects on what the natural world can teach us about growth, balance, rest, and connection, while reminding us that humans are not separate from nature, but part of it. Through painting, virtual reality, sound, and digital media, Biophilia invites viewers to slow down, reconnect, and experience these ideas through an immersive environment.
